The DT 131 features an open-back supraaural (on-the-ear) design for rich audio performance that's designed for critical listening. Dynamic Transducer for Increased Fidelity and Performance
An extremely strong neodymium magnet system offers the DT 131 highly detailed sound reproduction quality, is mechanically very robust, and needs only a small amount of operating voltage which increases efficiency. Nice for the price,

I needed a pair of headphones that are comfortable and sound good. I spend a lot of time producing music, and listening music in recording studios. I wanted something that would be a comfort for my mind and ears.
One down-side to these headphones is that when I take them on a walk, they kind of make a creaking noise with each step. It's the area of loose connection that lets the headphones be adjustable with each step I take the headphones are slightly jarred, and they move up-down just above my ear, making a kind of "creak" sound with each of those steps. Another down-side, is that I was hoping to wear them when exercising, but the foam (comfortable) connection against my ear absorbs sweat .... eventually that will not smell so good. A good thing is that (with my iPod) they get loud enough, but not so loud that I'm tempted to damage my ears.
