A, ROCK-ON, peace sign accessory, with style!, September 21, 2010
This review is from: Peace Colorful Viscose Scarf (Apparel)
This scarf in navy, is a rich, dark, midnight sapphire blue, with the peace sign in black, so you can't really see the peace sign until you inspect the scarf more closely. It is a more subtle statement, and downright elegant in appearance. Because of this, it could be played down, or added to more dressy apparel. I'm totally mad over this color!
I also ordered the 'brown' scarf, which is actually more of a lighter, or medium tan color, with the black peace sign. Here the peace sign stands out, and can be seen across the room, if that is your style. I love it, too, in a more fun, casual way. It will be great this fall with a light sweater and jeans, etc.
So, if you want to make a peace sign statement, go for the lighter colors, if not, go for the richer colors. I can assure you that whichever you chose, it appears the colors are quite vibrant and fairly true to the sample colors---except prettier, in my opinion.
My measurements were slightly different than the description, at 21 inches wide and 63 inches long, but they are slinky, stretchy, and a little difficult to measure. Rest assured, there is enough length to allow the scarf to be tied in most popular ways, and to become creative with it, too. And, the fabric has a silken, gauzy feel, that is very comfortable around the neck. No nasty neck itch!
Although thin, with the length, there is enough material for adequate wrapping around the neck to offer some draft protection. In south Texas, where we do not have harsh winters, I see this as a year around, working scarf.
I'm pleased enough with my scarves, that I'm eying the red one and will probably order it, too. I may also order some for gifts. They arrive ready for gifting, in nice black boxes, folded beautifully, and wrapped in tissue paper.
While I don't see an age limit for appreciating this scarf's symbolism, or appearance, I think teens would absolutely love it, with the resurgence of the peace symbol---everywhere, now. As will the 'old hippies' like myself---and everyone in between. And, my goodness, who could argue with the price for such a fun accessory.

Feels soft as a feather..., July 16, 2010
This review is from: Peace Colorful Viscose Scarf (Apparel)
I ordered this scarf in red because it matches my black flip-flops that are adorned with shiny red roses. I wanted something to match that would look good with jeans and several tops in my wardrobe. Since I'm a "funky" kind of gal, the peace signs in the pattern appealed to me, also, and the size is perfect, allowing me to fashion it in a variety of styles.
I wasn't exactly sure what "viscose" is and feared it might be rough and scratchy. So when this pretty scarf arrived, the first thing I did was toss it around my neck to get a feel for the texture. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and light it felt. When I run my fingers across the material, it feels soft as feathers. To wax poetic, it feels as I imagine a fleecy cloud would feel. :-)
I loooooooove my new scarf so much I'm wearing it to a friend's birthday BBQ tomorrow. In fact, I'm going back to order several in different colors. Highly recommended!
