5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books available for begining brewers., May 18, 1998
This review is from: The brewer's companion: A source-book for the small-scale brewer
Randy Mosher got it right with this book. This book is written in laymans terms and gets right to the basics, continuing on through moderate to advanced information. Very well laid out and full of usefull charts and worksheets. Hands down the best resource book for beginning brewers I've seen.

Randy Mosher wrote the best compilation of home brewing/brewing information on beer I have seen. It describes every stage of brewing, every style, the chemicals that effect beer, and provides loads of forms and charts to use when brewing. I haven't seen this anywhere else. This is THE "must have" book for the home brewer. Until I got this book, I was fooling around with scraps of information pulled from one book, or another, and never understanding precisely why the method of homebrewing works. Until you can get this information, you are merely walking prescribed paths without any idea why, or how to improve and stream line the process.

Much of the book is graphic, an excellently compiled. I also suggest Noonan's "Lager" book for more precise information for the intermediate and advanced homebrewer.

5.0 out of 5 stars indispensable homebrewers aid, July 23, 1998

The further you get into making beer, the more you will rely on the tables of easy-to-understand technical info in this book. I first thought it would be intimidating, but my first read enlightened me to the finer aspects of creating great beer. If you make your own beer get this book now.
