5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning!
An earlier reviewer averred that this very important, and well written, work was fiction. Would that this were true. Sadly, this is as real as it gets.

After ending the reading of this book, I must conclude that the author was unable to proof his three main and very serious assertions: Pope John XXIII's masonic initiation; Pope Paul VI's double; and Pope John Paul II's ilegitimate son. Suming up, an obvious failure.

An earlier reviewer averred that this very important, and well written, work was fiction. Would that this were true. Sadly, this is as real as it gets.

I had the blessing of having come upon this book immediately after having read, in succession, Pinay's "Plot Against the Church" and Father Laux's "Church History". This most excellent book really follows exactly the theme of the former, with the meticulous documentation of the latter. Herein is related the betrayal of John XXIII, Paul VI, and John Paul II. Also, much interesting light is shed on the apparent murder of John Paul I. Throughout the whole, as with Pinay's "Plot Against the Church", the theme of secret society operations against Holy Church is elaborated. Because of this, some folks, like the aforementioned reviewer, will do all in their power to suppress the important truths contained herein.

Compton ends his magnificent work with a very important and not to be neglected appendix. There he relates the story of meeting up with a wizened old Irish priest, who know of the theme of this book. In the grand traditon of Celtic spirituality, that holy old man summed it all up for posterity. Though things may seem bleak at times for Holy Church, in the end, the gates of Hell shall not prevail against Her.

This is an excellent and terribly important book. Read it. And be both richly blessed and well informed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thorough history of the subversion in the church, June 20, 2006
This review is from: The broken cross: The hidden hand in the Vatican (Hardcover)
The takeover of the workings of the Heirarchical Catholic Church by Freemasons and Communists is chronicled, with names, dates and credibility. From a tradtional Roman Catholic's viewpoint, it is most discomforting, even frightening, account of the changes in the Church since Vatican II. Although believing the Church will ultimately prevail, as Christ promised, the times ahead promise great trial and tribulation on a worldwide scale by all accounts of this book.

After ending the reading of this book, I must conclude that the author was unable to proof his three main and very serious assertions: Pope John XXIII's masonic initiation; Pope Paul VI's double; and Pope John Paul II's ilegitimate son. Suming up, an obvious failure.

Nevertheless, Piers Compton clearly demonstrates that Catholic Church, after the Second Vatican Council, was greatly infiltrated at the highest levels of the Roman Curia by masonic and socialist/communist agents, a fact that explains the turmoil faced by Church since then.

This book deserves to be rated with two and half stars.

This review is from: The broken cross: The hidden hand in the Vatican (Hardcover)
The Novus Ordo Catholic is well aware of problems within the church beginning with Vatican II. There are at present 3 dioceses within the Church that have filed for bankruptcy because of lawsuits filed against pedophile priests, and the bishops and archbishops who hide these priests and move them from one parish to another. Piers Compton's book dates from the early 1980's and does not have the benefit of recent scandals that now characterize the present church. But what Piers Compton offers to the reader explains why the church is in such turmoil. This Vatican II heresy will pass in time just as the Arian heresy was quelled in the early days of the church.

1.0 out of 5 stars A thoroughly dangerous book, April 23, 2000

This review is from: The broken cross: The hidden hand in the Vatican (Hardcover)
It is with some relief that I note that this particular work of fiction is now out of print. Briefly, it purports to show how the Pope and most if not all of the rest of the Vatican authorities have lost the plot, so to speak, and are working to destroy the Catholic Church from within. Interesting asides purport to show that Paul VI was replaced in mid-reign by an imposter (identified by slightly different-shaped ears) and that John Paul II fathered a love-child. It is just about possible - just about - to read this as a work of satirical fiction. That its author intended it to be read as fact is very nearly beyond belief.
