I purchased this book on Amazon.com based on all of the rave reviews... and the not so rave reviews. It made the book seem like it was really groundbreaking. Let me tell you its not. Its okay. Good information, but nothing special. The truth is: this book is just another business plan book. Nothing special. Nothing totally groundbreaking for e-Commerce. Rather vanilla if you ask me. I don't see what all of this artificial hype is about, but its obviously not really about this book.

This book is a horrible waste of money. I really don't know what I am missing? Perhaps a few chapters... because I found nothing to rave about with this book. If you are looking for a business plan book for Internet startups, try a book with that title. Because beyond the flashy title of this book, there is nothing else.

Our investment firm has suggested businessplan.com to our clients as a way to facilitate the plan writing process relevant to our preparing their prospectuses. Most of the plans are e-commerce related. The worksheet guides and the accompanying explanations are very clear and easy to use saving us time and in the process have clarified many operational issues that are not always easy to articulate.

Ross' book provides a solid integration of business plan writing with e-commerce fundamentals. I found the book very practical, organized and hands-on, with good examples and benchmarks as references. The book provides good step-by-step guidelines to help entrepreneurs quickly codify business ideas into a credible business plan in an e-commerce environment.

I speculate the source of previous reviewers' disappointment in the book may have been an unrealistic hope/expection that Ross' book would write their business plan for them. No credible business book can or should be expected to provide that. What a credible business book should do is provide a spark for stimulating good business ideas and a vehicle to deliver those ideas. In that regard, Ross' book is on the mark.

This is a detailed book that was writen by a top professional. Not a stone was left unturned at the B&N book signing and presentation August 21 in Los Angeles. I chair a nonprofit board for a national organization. This book has helped our team prepare our plan even though it was written for a business audience. businessplan.com is highly recommended.

Well, I have expected a book about "Writing Businessplans for Internet Start-ups". Let's put it in simple words: It's not. I was a bit disappointed. The book is quite useful when writing a business plan and there are a lot of examples. However, I also think that the book is poorly written.

I'm the author of businessplan.com. Years before I wrote this book I was busy helping clients find ways to succeed in business. Some of them were very tiny companies barely holding their own. Others were medium to larger size businesses that hit snags in their business cycles for one reason or the other. From Los Angeles to Moscow they all had a commonhood. Behind all the logos, polished desks, assembly lines, and glossy company brochures were real people just like you and me. They needed help and I was it.

Over the past 22 years I've worked with almost 800 clients. My job has been to help them succeed no matter how small or how grand the dream or company. We, my clients and I, invest hours upon hours of carefully stacking all the success chips in our favor. I learned early in my career that if someone on the team is disgruntled it is important to find out why. Face the problem head on and fix it. Feeling good and feeling right about what you do is the forerunner to success.

When the first disgruntled review of businessplan.com was posted to the book's site, I immediately contacted the reader. My motive was to help the reader along his/her way. To find out why something like a book would upset him/her so and let the person know, "I'll help you. Please ask." The email bounced. Then other disgruntled comments appeared. I've been told the other emails bounced as well.

If you intend to buy this book, think twice. Realize that the scattering of bad reviews for this book are there for a reason. I was very disappointed by this title and its message. This book skirts on being a real business plan how-to book, but never succeeds.

At this momment of e-commerce, a reader may expect more specific details about the feasibility of an Internet business. Good value of a business plan requires more details, hints, tools cost and return estimations.
