Not what I had thought it would be,
By Aunt Nae (Middletown, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How many carbs is a booger? (Paperback)
I purchased this book with my 11 year old nephew in mind who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I thought that it might bring some humor to his new dietary challenges. It is my opinion that this book is not age appropriate for kids over the age of 7 or maybe 8 years old. I think that I may donate it to a local elementary school or library.

Unique Carb Counts,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: How many carbs is a booger? (Paperback)
This book is a unique and original idea on carbohydrate counting meant for children with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Although it meets this description, there is little actual writing and no story to engage the reader. The estimated counts for the real food items are fairly accurate, however the unique 'snacks' have imaginary carb counts and are of no help. My son actually thought the book cover illustration was so dismal that he refused to even open the book itself. A link to a website where readers can enter their own disgusting and original ideas of food products allows them to expand their imaginations and adds an extension activity, however I think the book should have remained a website itself.
