I want to purchase Sim City 4 Deluxe Edition, but I was wondering if it is compatible with Vista? Does anyone know? Thanks

I can get it load, and run. But it hangs and often drops out. Hmmm.

I have Windows Vista and I've tried running SimCity 4 Rush Hour and it constantly crashes. There have been times where I could play it for hours and it did not crash but there were other times when it would crash after like 15 minutes. I've complained to EA Sports and they basically have done nothing but apologize and give me useless steps to run to try and correct it. So I would not recommend buying it for Vista.

Seeing how this wasn't meant to run on Vista then you may run into problems and seeing how old this game is I doubt EA will update it for Vista.
I'm using Vista and well it hasn't been easy playing this game.I wish you the best of luck if you buy this game.

This is because SC4 has trouble running on processors with more than one core. Here's how to remedy it:
-Run Simcity 4, and alt+tab out
-Press CTRL+ALT+Delete and right click Simcity 4.exe
-Select affinity and deselect all but one CPU

I have a Quad-Core Intel Core 2 and Vista Home Premium x64 and have never had problems with this game. Don't listen to these artards.

I understand that their has been numerous reports of hangs and crashs, but these only seem to happen on computers that are either barely meeting requirements, or are running a System that has non-compatible hardware. As i had this computer proffessionaly built and tuned, their is no problems. My cousin's computer is exactly the same Hardware-wise, but he tuned it and can't even instal it.

I tried that but it seemed to do no good.

Try running it through DOSBOX. Keep in mind, this is an *OLD* game and it was released with bugs galore that were never fixed, even in the patches.
