Joseph Conrad

Joseph Conrad (1857-1924) nació en la actual Ucrania y fue educado en la Polonia ocupada por Rusia. A los diecisiete años abandonó los estudios para enrolarse en la marina mercante francesa. Vivió una vida aventurera, zarpando de Marsella y viéndose envuelto en tráfi co de armas y conspiraciones políticas. A los veintiún años había ya aprendido inglés, lengua en la que escribiría todas sus obras. Tras varios intentos, consiguió aprobar el examen de capitán de barco y fi nalmente obtuvo la nacionalidad británica en 1884. Viene con una completa descripción de la obra y del autor, la cual deja a entender la similitud de esta mi con la vida de Joseph Conrad.

En cuanto a la historia, no es tan descriptiva en cuanto a los hechos como a los personajes. Menciona los abusos cometidos a los nativos de manera muy superficial. Sentí que me quedaron vacíos en algunas partes de la historia.
