You haven't hear nothin' yet...,
By Jason Kraley (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: crosseyedrabbit (Audio CD)
..That is, until you've heard Dean Garcias' follow-up album to his first solo debut, Mushi Mushi. This album is strong, refined, and more focused to the talents Headcase assumably wishes to convey. The introduction alone grabs you and pulls you into a fundamentally frenetic beauty that shapes an amazing aural landscape. The album picks you up, throws you down, and challenges your senses as it continuously blends and draws you into a consciousness of sound. With highlights of blissful safe-haven like "Pure" to the distopian warnings that heaven is closed for repairs in "Basilisk". With intriguingly lyrical surprises thrown in, like unwrapping a gift, in "Come Again" and "Kill The Enemy". With all of Headcase's signature talents in sound design, control, and engineering that is felt throughout the album, this album is perfect for a walk through a new unknown city, a dark autumn night on your balcony, or (if you dare) on an airplane flight as the sun sets through your oval window. I felt "Crosseyedrabbit" was personally identifiable and summed up well with the ending song, "Librium."

There is little to say about this CD other than it's perfect. Don't have any expectations going with this CD and you'll be surprised, it truly unique and original. This CD is quality from front to back and there isn't any weak spots, it's not boring and the production is awesome. Dean Garcia who was the one of the creative forces behind Curve is an excellent musician and producer and this Headcase CD is a perfect example of that. Good ambient electronic that is an amazing listen as a whole of even if you want single tracks. I have owned this CD since it was released and think it's a shame that more people haven't given it a chance.
