cuisinart csb77 can any plastic from this blender touch food (IE hot soup)?

I bought a CSB-77 yesterday from a local retailer as a gift, and the box says "BPA Free".

If it's made like the one we saw at Costco, then the plastic piece that holds the cutter spindle would contact the soup that's being blended. Guess we have to trust the manufacturer to not use plastic containing BPA [or worse] for the food contact surfaces, which constitute most of the chopper attachment too.
