I have been wearing natural hair for three years and I am still experimenting. I have been looking for a product that will provide moisture, gloss and no frizz. I purchased this product and was very pleased. I am not sure of my hair type but I am an African American. My hair is naturally curly, salt and pepper, and likes moisture. I can easily wear an afro if I don't "anchor" it down at the roots. I usually twist my hair while it is wet and coil it on the ends. After three day of twists I open them and it displays crimps and coils.

I will definitely keep this product and recommend it to my friends. The pudding is white and creamy. It does not make your hair sticky and provides a good moisture and gloss. When my hair looked like it needed more moisture, I rubbed a little(about 1/2 tsp) on my hands and applied it to my twists. The pudding did not make my hair flaky. My hair had the body and the moisture I desire. My hair does not look frizzy and dry nor does it feel greasy. When it needed moisture, I rubbed a little on each individual coil, crimp, or twist.

I have tried Miss Jessie's and Kinky Kurly Custard. Miss Jessie got the boot and Kinky Curly Custard is on the borderline of getting the boot (as soon as all of the contents are used). I want my hair to look nice but I don't want to spend all of my money on natural hair products.

I beleive it is "user friendly" and will allow other products to be combined I sprayed my hair with olive oil spray and it still looked great.

Overall, the product worked great for me. I received several comments. I even had ladies run their hands through my hair and then rub their fingers. Of course, they didn't have permission, but you know what I'm talking about. They were surprised because it was not flaky or greasy.

OK I have tried Miss Jessie's, and it's just too expensive! I have tried Kinky Curly and I did like it but it took a little long to dry. If you read my last review, you will see that I did like KC a lot but you have to work with it to find out how it will work for you best depending on your hair type(which I still don't know yet). But this stuff...OMG I love it! There is no guess work at all. I just part my hair into little sections at a time, and apply root to tip. If I have time I sit under a hood dryer for maybe 30 to 45 minutes, finger style and go! I have really tight coily hair, and every coil is defined! It's not perfumy at all, really it smells so pleasant! I know this because the smell doesn't run my boyfriend out of our tiny bathroom when we are both in there getting ready for work in the morning! Anyone who lives with their boyfriend/girlfriend knows how important this is, you know!LOL It's not expensive and I am so pissed that Amazon no longer has this...GET IT TOGETHER AMAZON!!!! I am on a quest to find it and I WILL FIND IT! I am no longer a product whore because of this stuff, I feel good that I can now throw everything out that I used before! Oh,and if anyone knows where I can find Mixed Roots products, I am on [...]..please let me know!

Let's just say I have super curly and thick hair, and I no longer get relaxers because I want to stay natural, and I plan to stay natural no matter what, even if I walk out the house looking like a werewolf. Thanks to God, I don't have to look like a wild animal because of this awesome pudding. Mixed Roots Curly Pudding helps me a whole lot. I can actually run my fingers through my hair, particularly the hairs at the back of my head which are usually tight, kinky, and stubborn. My hair doesn't feel super greasy and oily, and my curls hang down more. They're more loose and my hair maintains its natural color too!! Aside from everything else the pudding smells delicious; I seriously tried to taste a little bit (it didn't turn out so great, but that's my fault). A lot of people including my mom and friends (girls and boys, boys making it a plus) enjoy sniffing my hair. I'm also satisfied with the large amount of pudding I got for only $14. I've used it 3 times already, and the container is still pretty full; a little really goes a long way with this stuff. Seriously, I have no complaints about this product and I'm so glad I didn't pay $26 for that Kinky-Curly Custard. Please keep making more awesome Curly Pudding (and don't change the fragrance either), and thanks for naming it Mixed Roots, because I am actually mixed myself. God Bless you and thank you so much for creating this. Please don't stop doing what you're doing, and in the future I hope you consider having your product sold in stores so I won't have to always order online, because I do plan to purchase more. Thanks again!!

First of all, this review is in no way a reflection on the seller. They shipped the product quickly and obviously took great care in packing the product prior to shipment. With that in mind, this product failed to live up to any of my expectations. I have very thick 3c, 4a curly hair. I can honestly say that this is the first curl pudding that in no way, shape or form did anything for my hair. The product leaves a white film even after it dries. The curls were not defined at all. Without anything more than a light leave in conditioner, my loose corkscrew curls are pretty well defined. This is the only product I have ever run into that actually made my hair look like a fro, a fro with a white film all over it. It was soft, but looked horrible!

I think that this product might be for those with thin hair that is a 3a at the most. Even then, you'll need to mix it with some sort of oil to cut down on the filmy residue.
