dear stupid neither "preaches" nor forms opinions for the reader. It is simply one woman's journal of horrendous pain. Zandra builds a bridge for other survivors to follow. Now they can take advantage of the trail this courageous survivor blazed, allowing them to discard their shame and secrecy.
From the Author
Get a pencil and jot down the names of the first three women who come to your mind. One of those three women were probably abused, sexually, as a child (according to Parents United International, Inc., a self-help group for incest survivors and their families.) Additional research claims as many as 38% of women were violated in childhood.
My invitation is for survivors and their loved ones to look through the window of my soul, follow my path to wholeness, and receive comfort and hope. Walk hand-in-hand with me as I learn to communicate with my inner child. dear stupid is unlike other recovery books, in that Little Zandra responds. She is delightful, and readers find themselves cheering for her as she gains more freedom to be herself. It is through this unique and blossoming relationship that I finally learned to love and accept myself.
