In this video I review the positive and negative aspects of the COSMO destop blank drawer rack.

This COSMO pc accessory is practical and designed to fill an otherwise unused 5.25 optical bay in your PC.

It turns an empty space into a storage space or organizer.

There is a big flaw in the lock mechanism. It is very delicate.

Because of how cheap and flimsy they are, I believe it is highly likely that they were damaged before they even left the COSMO warehouse.

If my drawer racks had arrived intact, this would be a four or five star review.

I've got a large case with a lot of unused drive bays and, for me, this is a lot more useful than an optical drive or flash reader. This was the cheapest drawer I could find and it does everything it needs to: it goes in an out.

This is great to fill what was otherwise empty space. I found out about this from Lifehacker's "Five Useful Upgrades For Your Computer's Unused Bays" article. A bit of a tight fit but I managed to install it my Antec Three Hundred case. It blends very well with the black case. Now I have a very convenient place to put my various memory cards, USB sticks, and dongles. The engraved words "CASE BOX" on the front is a little tacky but not noticeable it unless you shine a light directly to it. It's a no-frills drawer. It has no built-in LED lights, rubber liner, drawer dividers, or internal USB port like the others, those don't concern me. It came in a plain white box and includes a white velcro strap in addition to the screws.

Like Glenn I found this on Lifehacker's "Five Useful Upgrades For Your Computer's Unused Bays", such a great website. Anyways. My towers always have empty drive bays and when I saw this it was a perfect use for it. I store my micro SD to SD cards in there, USB drives, and small cable converters. The drawer is a decent size and is a great little storage area. I originally used the quick mounting brackets in my case and found it to be a lot better to screw this in, otherwise there is a decent amount of movement (not the products fault just a tip). The case box written across the front kinda sucks but it doesn't really stand out that bad. Also it doesn't slide well if I am pushing from the side of the drawer, but when I push in the middle it slides in just fine. It is a cheap little drawer but does it's job and really is a great use of some otherwise wasted space.

It is really easy to install, super cool, super useful. I received mine no flaws, no broken parts. The clicking feature to lock it in place works nicely. It sits flush against my case so plenty of room for the door to close over it (I have a gaming pc with a door that closes over my slots). The body is metal and the drawer is plastic. It's honestly a little cheaply made in that the drawer wiggles up,down, side to side when its open, but closed it's perfectly solid. Still super cool. I really love it.

Let me start off by saying this product is worth the money. In fact, it's the only drawer I could find... anywhere. When I first opened it's box, I was incredibly disappointed in the build quality. The drawer itself has no dedicated rail to slide from front to back. It just has a small rail in the back (maybe an inch) to make sure it goes in back correctly. What does this mean? Well, unfortunately it means when you pull the drawer out it can move from side to side quite a bit, it can even move up and down a bit too. With that being said, the product feels flimsy and cheap. However, after having it installed and getting used to feel of it, i'm quite happy with the purchase. It's not like a drawer i'm going to be using 20 times a day, just something I might open once or twice a day to put small stuff in. I wish the price was cheaper, but in their defense, the tray itself it made of metal and feels quite nice. I just hope they improve the drawer in the future.

Overall, buy this if you think you need it. It looks great and comes in handy. Don't be surprised by the quality, though. -1 star for that.

The outer case itself is metal and fairly sturdy (though mine arrived with some superficial scratch marks). The drawer is not metal, but plastic. This alone wouldn't matter too much, but the latch mechanism is ALSO plastic, and extremely cheaply made. In fact, mine arrived with the latch conveniently already broken, saving me the trouble of even putting it in my pc.

With the latch broken there is virtually no way to open the drawer when installed short of physically tilting the pc, as the front is meant to be flush with the rest of the case; It is meant to pop open when you push it in.

When I submitted a complaint, the idea of a replacement didn't even get mentioned, they went straight to a full refund. In my mind, this is a very strong indication that my experience was far from rare. Sadly, there don't seem to be any other drawer racks like this (there are some other sellers, but they all say "Case Box" on the front and are identical in manufacture), so while the idea is good in theory, it is implemented abysmally.

Don't waste your money!
