Not the October Project of the past...,
By Fabricio (Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: different eyes (Audio CD)
This album by October Project can be enjoyed by two kind of listeners. One, by the fans of October Projet's original formation, and other, by the usual pop music admirer.
For the fans in the first category, this work shall sound quite disappointing, specially because it does not bring the same greatness of their first two CDs. However, for the pop fan it is an OK work, with a smooth, enjoyable pop sound.

A Sweet Little Package,
By Simon Harrison "Simon" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: different eyes (Audio CD)
It's hard to believe that it has been 13 years since October Project released their eponymously titled first CD. Perhaps the title of this EP suggests that the reconfigured line-up (singer Marina Belica is now lead vocalist) sees things differently than they once did. The compositions on this CD explore new ground, with lyrics sometimes more playful- especially in the song "forget you." Marina Belica's lead vocals are very satisfying to the ear and I can finally make out all of Flander's great lyrics without reading the liner notes. What remains the same is OP's commitment to great music. It's a sweet little package that leaves you hungry for more. Join the evolution!

october project: different eyes,
This review is from: different eyes (Audio CD)
This is a different band, essentially, without Mary Fahl's signature vocals, and four other musicians. Tolerable to listen to, but none of the mystical atmosphere of their earlier two albums, and little or no harmony. Disappointing.
