The travel agent for my company recommended that I buy a seat belt extender because the airlines often run out or don't offer extenders to passengers who need them. Four cross-country flights later, I can say that none of the US Air attendants checked or cared about seat belts. A seat belt would not have been offered. If you are a plus size man or woman, and you have to fly, take care of your own safety and get one. Service is not what it used to be in the airline industry. Take your food, take your seat belt extender and if you are overweight be prepared to be treated poorly.

Depending on the airplane seat, I may or may not need a seat belt extender. This one is well made and compact. It was just right for one domestic flight that had seat belts a bit shorter than other airlines. I had regular shipping but it arrived within a few days. I am very happy I made this purchase.
