It does but it only cover manufacturer issues not user caused damage.

yes, they will cover something that is a factory defect. if you take it to the beach and they see some sand or anything like that, they will not cover it. they are picky

inside the box, there is a Canon Limited Warranty card that has the Model#, Body number, and the serial number is on the other side. "Your Products, when delivered to you in new condition in it's original container (which it was R.L.)are warranted against defect and materials or workmanship as follows; for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase...."
It goes on to tell how to send defective products to them, so yes-short answer it does come with a one-year warranty.
You didn't ask, but I like this camera.
