How long does it hold a charge. Nuvi I purchased 3 years ago only got 2 hours.

That sounds about right, but honestly we rarely have ours outside our vehicle where it usually remains plugged in so it hasn't posed any problems for us so far.

That is one thing is it does only get about 2 1/2 hours but I always leave it plugged in so not a big negative for me.

It does hold a charge for a approximate 2 hours, maybe more, but you always can plug it in the lighter plug in your car, and it also have a power saver mode that you can shut the device down or reduce the brightness level to minimum that can save more power in to the battery.

I never checked how long it would hold a charge. I only use it in my car with the adapted for charging it.

Seems to last about 2 - 2 1/2 hours depending upon whether or not the satellite seeking function is on. Also strongly suggest turning down brightness display and sound off to extend battery life. Might be able to get 3 hours.

2 hours is what Garmin spec'd for this unit. as we drove around we kept it plugged into the 12V hot port.
