All of the functions, modes and menus work as they should. I have had no problems. In most situations a beginner can use A (auto) or P (program) modes and get good clear photos. That is true of any camera. In tricky lighting situations, a knowledge of photography and how to adjust exposure for those situations is important. But again, that is true of any camera. With 30 years of photo experience, I am quite happy with this camera.
Yes my Nikon D3000 works perfectly. I especially like how long the battery charge lasts in this camera. with the Guide Modes and the four Manual Modes I can take any photos that I want. With the 18-55mm Auto Matic focus lens taking photos are easy and fast. Yes, I am happy with my Nikon D3000 digital camera. I would like to say if you add on a 200mm or a 300mm telephoto lens you have a perfect combination for any photos you can think of.
