I would also like to know if this works on a Mac. In general, I am finding that it is possible to buy electronic items on Amazon that are completely incompatible with OSX and no where do you even see that mentioned. A simple "System Requirement" category would suffice.
I have it, I bought it because I remember reading something about it working with a mac but i tried it today and it doesn't work and i have a new macbook pro. i tried to copy an old vhs tape and the mac didn't recognize it and either did imovie or roxio.
I bought the Mac version originally by mistake and my Windows computer was not able to recognize it properly. I returned it for the PC version and it worked perfectly the first time. I'm guessing the only difference is the driver support but either way you need the Mac version for Macs and the Windows version for Windows.
I have the iMac and went ahead and bought Windows 7 to do work stuff on it through Bootcamp. Then, just recently bought the VC500 - downloaded it on the Windows 7 side and was able to connect my camcorder to the VC500 which was connected to my Mac and recorded it on Windows 7. Makes sense?
In a nutshell, buying a full version of Windows and installing on my Mac was the best thing I could ever do. It's the best of both worlds - really.
