The Finger's 2nd album really put them on the map in their home country as it won all kinds of ARIA awards. This is simply a much better effort than Parables for Wooden Ears, but is still pretty inconsistent and a bit raw. However, you can tell that their song writing skills are improving and this album offers up some pretty darn good songs including Pick You Up, d.a.f., Oipic, and Living Type. There are those who think this is their best album because the sound was contemporary, but, ultimately, it's not what The Fingers are all about as their follow up albums post-2000 demonstrate. Oddly, this album might have had the best chance of becoming a success in the U.S. 3.5 STARS
