Can I download free 14 day trial Parallels from website & also order one from Amazon.com (Its cheap here) & later install the Key in it when I get it.

That's what I did and it worked fine. I just used the key provided with the purchased version to activate the trial.

Yup, that will work. If you are currently using VMWare Fusion, you can get a deep discount for switching. Installing Parallels is pretty easy, but if you need help, their tech support is really good.

you should be able to do this as long as the major versions are the same i.e. both copies are release 8

I am not certain but believe that if there is a trial period, such would be the case.

If you want to try it first and see if you like it it's a good choice, I think you just need to removed the trial when you buy the parallels.
