Format: Hardcover
This is a decent but imperfect high school text on economics. On the good side most of the chapters are concise and to-the-point, the text covers many economic subjects, and includes several useful ideas for teachers. The book also requires students to incorporate those critical higher-order thinking skills so vital to learning. But the vocabularly is rather challenging for students that can't read near grade level (most of ours don't), and the text fails to cover certain subjects in sufficient detail - such as economic systems like capitalism, communism, socialism, etc. As with many texts, teachers need to incorporate worksheets, handouts, videos, and imaginative ideas to connect the students to the subject and critical thinking.
