Avid readers here... have started and stopped many books with my 7 year old because of characters being naughty or mean, story lines that are dry (we loathed the Rainbow Magic fairy series for the latter reason, and Ramona books for the first reason).

This series is fun, entertaining, witty - the author includes the reader by speaking directly to you at times... expands on the idea of Tinkerbell in a very original way.

Only disappointment is with the Fairy Blueberry Birthday Cake recipe at end... it does not indicate a temperature for baking it :) but we'll be able to easily figure this out.

We borrow first from the library and then FAVORITE REREADS get added in hardback to home - this makes the collection for sure!

My daughter loves the Disney Fairies movies, shorts, fashion game, and books. As such, I figured she'd enjoy The Fairy Bell Sisters books. She was so surprised, and thrilled, to learn that Tinker Bell has younger sisters. She can read on her own and she flew through this book and absolutely loved it!

I just finished reading this book to my 5 year old daughter and we both LOVED it!! The story is so well written and engaging, the illustrations are beautiful and magical, and there are lessons to be learned. Every night at bedtime my daughter would BEG me to keep reading more...she couldn't get enough. (neither could I!) The little fairy Sylva in this book is absolutely delightful, as are all the other fairy bell sisters. My daughter particularly enjoyed the baby sister Squeak, and all the funny things she said. An absolutely delightful book!! Some books I am happy to just get from the library, but this is one of those ones that you want to own. I highly recommend! We will definitely be purchasing and reading the other ones! This series and these characters would make the cutest toys or gift set, with the book and a little fairy doll! It truly just engages a child's imagination!!

We have read a few of the rainbow fairies series and this one is SO MUCH BETTER!!

She thinks of herself as a fairy queen. She is thrilled each time I give her one of these books. She can name all of the fairies. Especially love the fact that some of the books progress from her reading level and beyond, so she can pick one up and read it to her little brother. Interest is there as she plays teacher, reading, and actually learning all about sentences and bigger words as she enjoys herself. The true testament to "Reading and Learning can be FUN!"

This was a gift for my niece... I hope she enjoys it, I got it because I wanted something that was above her reading level, that she could read with her mom and then read to her younger sister as she develops her reading skills. Love fairy stories, so this was perfect!

This is the first book in a series which readily admits to being inspired by the character of Tinkerbell from Peter Pan. Tinkerbell’s sisters are not yet grown up and so they live with all the younger fairies on Sheepskerry Island . Their names are Clara Bell, Lily Bell, Rosie Bell, Silver Bell and baby Squeak; they go to fairy school, eat fairy food, play fairy games, try to avoid trolls, and once a year (if they are good and old enough) they go to the Fairy Ball. It is the week of the Fairy Ball and Silver is desperate to go, but you have to be eight before you are allowed. Yet the Fairy Ball is where the fairies “put on their diamond wings and walk on satin ribbons under the stars.” So, which fairy wouldn’t want to take part?

This book has short chapters and is ideal for newly fluent readers, who are ready to tackle something a little longer. The story really encourages little readers to keep going. So, for example, a chapter ends, “if you would like to hear about a brave little fairy, who can also be rather naughty and get in very big trouble with her sisters, just turn the page.” When they turn over, the next chapter begins, “Oh, thank goodness you turned the page!” It is a very sweet story and has some lovely illustrations. Does Silver manage to attend the Fairy Ball? You will have to read it and find out. Ideal for 6-8 year olds and will appeal to little girls who love everything pink and pretty (and what’s wrong with that?).

This enchanting book will delight mothers and daughters alike with its exciting story and charming descriptions of the fairy world inhabited by the spirited Fairy Bell Sisters. Whether by moon beam begotten diamond wings or in an oyster shell carriage drawn by dragonflies, the reader will be transported into a beautiful dreamland and never want to leave. The illustrations are exquisite. Can't wait for more tales of the fairy bell sisters!

I bought this for my 5 year old granddaughter. She liked it so much, I bought her books 2,3 and 4. It is a quick easy read with short chapters. Great for bedtime stories. I highly recommend this for little girls (or boys) who like fairy stories.
