...I found this book quite enjoyable to read. Rose is growing up and I had a Feeling she would Fall in love with one of the Cooley boys. I was also delited to learn that Swiney had a real name.(Although it took some getting used to, I was used to knowing him as Swiney). I was also saddened when I read that Grandpa Wilder had died...

The girl was quite a firecracker. Again, just as charming as Little House, but the storytelling is a bit more complex and more reflective of who Rose was. This series truly equals the charm and storytelling of Laura's story. Kudos to those who thought to bring this series to print.

This book is absolutely terrific! Rose Wilder adjusts to life in Mansfield, away from her beloved Rocky Ridge Farm. She meets many new people, has exciting experiences, and also falls in love with her best friend Paul Cooley.

This book was an excellant read for children to get a real look at the life and times of pre-twentieth century life in the U.S. Mr. MacBride brings out wonderful details and continues the legendary story of Rose Wilder and her family as they try to better there lives in Mansfield.

In this book, Rose Wilder and her parents move from their farm at Rocky Ridge, into the town of mansfield. Rose has many exciting things happen to her, such as near death illness, as well as dealing with her growing feelings towards her childhood friend Paul, and with the snobbiness of townspeople. I for my own part, feel sorry for Rose's lonliness that she seems to constantly feel, and how it seems to grow even in town. I also feel a little strange about her love-like feelings with Paul. I don't know.....she seems to take her feelings about Paul so seriously, and I don't know whether people back then truly allowed their emotions to florish or Roger Mcbride just added that little fiction, but I just feel that love for Rose was too soon. As for the plot, its exciting, kinda sad and dramatic. I recommend reading it.

I love reading stories dated back in the 1800's. I love Laura Ingalls Wilder and any books pertaining to her life. It is interesting reading how hard times where for her and then reading how she raised her daughter Rose. I hope every young girl reads all the Little House books and then continue on with the other series.
