This is an excellent introductory text for operations management. I used it for many years before I retired and did the PowerPoint slides for several editions. That kind of a price for a paperback book, however, is ridiculous. It is no wonder that students buy one and then copy it for all their friends; or, find an international edition on-line for a fraction of the price. I have quit requiring a text in my classes and just have the library buy a couple of copies for reference.

I used this book for a master's degree course and was please with how well the information was organized and presented. I've become critical of many textbooks due to their overuse of pictures and graphics while skimping on quality explanation. This book only uses graphics only as needed further support the text and covers each topic at an appropriate level. I'd consider this work an excellent entry point for anyone interested in supply chain operations.

This is one of the most useful textbooks I've read up to date, which is saying a lot. There is no fluff and the reading is super easy to digest. Chapters aren't very long (perhaps more material could have been shared) which makes for fast reading. The figures and tables are also informative.

Overall a great breakdown of a range of topics. Chapter 1 (operations functions), Chapter 3 (product design), and chapter 16 (MRP and ERP) were especially useful and interesting.

Good job on the compilation of this book authors. It was very helpful for my operations management course. Covers the areas of operations management, with lots of real world examples. There are problems at the end of each chapter with examples within that chapter. Makes you think about how to complete them. There are also various diagrams and visual aids to assist in the explanation of elements in the subject.

I got the kindle version of this book, and I think that at $146 it is a bit overpriced.

Not that you probably have a choice, but it's an extremely dry, boring book with no color whatsoever. I hardly read it for class because I couldn't stand it. Loved to have it in kindle version though!
