Product Description

Now aligned with the INTASC standards, A Resource Guide for Teaching K-12 is a hands-on book with practical exercises to help teachers learn by doing. Inservice teachers will find that this book provides a sound introduction to the challenges of today's schools, teachers' professional responsibilities, classroom environment, curriculum, planning instruction, questioning, grouping students for learning; using teacher talk, demonstrations, thinking, inquiry, and games; assessment, and professional development. General K-12 Inservice Teachers.

From the Publisher

Using a practical "workbook" approach with an active learning focus, this comprehensive, yet concise, resource guide is designed to engage students in "hands-on" and "minds-on" learning about effective teaching. Set around the four components of learning to teach -- why, what, how, and how well -- it focuses on an eclectic approach to teaching -- with a cognitive-humanistic emphasis. Through collaborative and cooperative learning exercises in every chapter, students learn about, practice, discuss, and implement the full spectrum of effective teaching skills and strategies. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
