This book is great for learning the process of construction management, but some of the information is SO dated. They barely mention cell phones, and the book talks about "computers" as a luxury in a project. They also mention typewriters, which I don't know a single person who uses one on a regular basis. But some of the information is good.

the book covers most of the issues related to project management. Some topics are very informative even for soemone with experience in project management. overall a very good book on this subject.

If your job entails any part of construction management, whether it be for new infrastructure (my situation) or vertical construction, this book-which is now in its 10 edition at least, should be in your library. I actually bought this one to replace one that walked away from my bookcase in my trailer office. (I chose an older edition to save money.) The latest edition probably speaks more to the current usage of electronic devices and technology.
This is a good, basic book that deals with any construction issue I've ever come across. It spells out the accepted protocols, the tips and traps and what to look out for. Also it provides some pretty good examples of forms or templates that one could adapt or modify for one's own. I met the author once, long ago, and he was a pretty sharp guy. He speaks from experience. Let this book be a building block in your arsenal of 'tools' to get the job done, on time and on budget and without (hopefully) claims or litigation.
