Studies show some college students make a successful transition to employment and many other do not. A thesis in the book is colleges must change course from consumerism to adopting a rigorous academic approach. Something has to give.

Extremely short essay (not book length). About 30% of the "book" is just notes and citations. While the message and content are good-ish, Allan Bloom and Andrew Delbanco offer much better and higher criticism of higher education. This had the feel of a research paper that got turned into a book.

Research based. Rational conclusions that are needed for informed and productive discussion on this vitally important topic. Look forward to more.
