This book is a marvelous teaching tool. I poured over every page and cannot rate it highly enough.

Really a lovely book. Very large size and quite heavy, but the pictures are so crisp and bright. You can see every little detail on the little bugs and flowers.

This is a beautiful, aesthetic and scientific look at our world in the closest of ways. We have taken sections at a time to look at with our entire family, marveling at the perfection in a microcosm of life. It's not a book you'll pick up and casually glance through -- it's more a book you'll purposefully study, but it's worth the time and effort.

This is the first photo book I have ever read cover to cover in one sitting. The photos, the text, the layout, everything about this book makes it interesting and valuable. I have other books by this photographer and they are all amazing. This one tops my list.

The pictures are wonderful, but the descriptions left me feeling dis-satisfied. Needed more analysis / explanation. Perhaps I misunderstood the purpose of the book.

This is the equivalent of a doctoral thesis in both pictures and print. David Littschwager's idea was creative and informative. He offers five scenarios for his cubic foot worlds and each is mesmerizing. Each abounds in minute forms of life and each of these forms are multi-celled creatures even as we are. The complexity of the world is brought home to us dramatically. The book is coffee-table size but the content cannot be written off easily. It can offer both information and wonder for years to come.

Absolutely the most fascinating book I have seen in decades! Photography is of National Geographic style (they funded it) and is an incredible addition to any library or coffee table. Hopefully, a second edition will be available soon to contrast urban and agricultural (dead) ecosystems. Original, unique and prime.
