This book has a lot of interesting articles about various types of dance in Latino countries. Some were dry to read, but most of them were fairly interesting.

Dancing across Borders: Danzas y Bailes Mexicanos is a good informative book. I read this book for a project I am doing in English, and saw that I took long breaks in between reading, because it got boring. I originally chose to read this book because my project was on Ballet Folklorico, but found I just skipped the parts that were unimportant to me. I found this book very informative, with very interesting parts, yet dry in some places. It is more geared towards adults who want to learn of all the different types of dances in Mexico.

The book starts by talking about Aztec dance and its style. It talks about all styles of Mexican dance, going into detail about how it started and how it continues today. The stories are written by different authors, each talking about their own experience with the dance they are writing about. Some parts of the book are interesting, especially the parts of the book that you want to read, the rest just seem boring or bland. There were a few pictures in the book to show what type of dance they are talking about, but it was still dry.

Overall this book did its purpose, it was interesting, or the parts that I wanted to read. I doubt that I would read it again, because it was dry. If interested in learning about all the styles of Mexican dance, I would recommend, but if interested in just one style of Mexican dance (Ballet Folklorico) I would not recommend that you buy it, but rather get it from the library or rent it.
