This is a very good reference. Has basically all drugs used in ICU and ACLS with drip calculation tables. good descriptions of the drugs and in larger print as well which makes finding things a lot easier.

Great book to use in the ICU! It has come in very handy when I have multiple drips to run. It allows me to see compatibilities with other drips and the nursing implications in a nutshell! It is concise and accurate. Thanks!

I have been an ICU nurse for 10 years. This little book has become my bible. It is a quick reference guide not bogged down by "non-nursing stuff". The Compatibility guides are invaluable. I just bought the 3rd edition, donating my dogeared 2nd edition to our "med room" The only criticism I have is that it would be helpful if the author referenced half lifes of the drugs. Other than that this handbook is a gem.

I was hoping to get a more extensive list of interactions, that is why I bought it. If you do not know IV drips well, this would be a good resource. If you already know drips and do not have something like Lexicomp or King's List available, then this might help in a pinch....especially if the computers are down.

This is a great, easy to use and accurate resource. The only complaint I have is that because it is spiral and I carry it in my pocket, it got a little worn out and I lost the cover. I bought another one when my first got too ragged to use.

While I am looking for the quick and to-the-point facts regarding the drugs within the book, the book simply doesn't given me all the facts. I want to know a little more about , for example, drip dosages instead of just the push dosage for a particular drug. While it is a convenient source of drug information given its layout, I don't think it delivers on all the aspects that one might want in a book like this. However, if you just need a simple reference and are confident in all the details regarding your drugs of choice, then this book is for you.

I bought this after getting a position in ICU and wanted something I could quickly reference. However, while the medications listed are definitely ones used frequently in critical care, it's definitely not an all inclusive list. I have accessed this book a few times so far and was unable to find the medication I needed. The medications that are listed, however, are described thoroughly in only a few short sentences and with available drip rates, which is helpful when needing to look up information quickly.

It does have some interesting information. But I don't recommend purchasing this book for that price. I definitely prefer a regular nursing drug hand book that has a lot more information that is needed to know about the medication.
