We teach our students and nurses in our organizations to use nursing diagnoses as the basis for their care - we have strongly advocated this for years, and after initial pushback, we have found nurses really do buy in when they see how it is used in clinical practice. We then work with outcomes, based on the diagnoses, and select interventions that can help us meet those outcomes. So, I was VERY disappointed to see the link of NURSING outcomes directly to medical diagnoses, without explanation of why there would not be a link to nursing diagnoses in these provided examples - caused a LOT of confusion for my students and faculty, too - are NIC/NOC "selling out" to the DNP/medical model of nursing practice now? If so, it is such a shame!!!

This book is for every nurse who has to write care plans. The one drawback is I bought it for my Kindle and the layout was not redone to accommodate the device very well. I encourage the writers to go onto a Kindle and redo it to better sync with the device.

This is a very interesting book and as a nursing student it helped me immensely in class. It is not easy reading and I had to ask for help at first to understand how it worked but in the end I got a good grade on my paper by using this book. Janet Lawson (LVN to BSN Program student)
