Twin daughters, Diamond and Pearl are wild and their wayward actions leave them both pregnant by the same good for nothing man named Scotch. Angered as well as disgraced, Irish seeks retribution and Scotch quickly and mysteriously disappears. Pearl feels betrayed, humiliated and ashamed of the dishonor she has brought to her family and turns her life around. Diamond continues her quest even further into the darkness of the cruel and brutal world of drugs, sexual immorality, and stripping.

Mookie Murdock is a cold blooded killer and Diamond Baines meets his wrath because of her attempt to steal from him while assisting in one of his infamous gambling scams. Infuriated by Mookie's order of Diamond's injury, only incites Irish to engage in a vendetta to bring down Mookie and his organization. Mookie takes the ultimate offense and viciously with no remorse for gender or age, mercilessly murders the entire family minus one. Overcome with grief and sorrow, Pearl abandons her lifelong dream of a promising career with the FBI as her emotions spiral out of control. In the midst of her grieving such a humongous loss, she's spurred forward with the chant of her father prodding her to seek revenge in one of the most heinous yet captivating tales you will ever dare to encounter again.

UNZIPPED by Noire is the story of one woman, Pearl Baines, who lost so much at the hands of a ruthless drug dealer. This is Pearl's story on why she became...unzipped and what she does in order to seek vengeance.

Diamond and Pearl Baines are the twin daughters of one of the most respected, legendary, former drug dealers in Harlem, Irish Baines. Irish rehabilitated himself and opened up an outreach center for other young men to try and save them from the streets. Unfortunately, he was unable to tame his wild and out-of- control teen daughters.

At the age of 14, both Diamond and Pearl became pregnant. Diamond, the wilder twin, would not leave the streets or the drugs alone, even while she was pregnant. Pearl, after becoming pregnant, realized she was on the fast track to nowhere, so with the help of her loving parents, she managed to pull herself up out of the ghetto. When tragedy strikes, she becomes unzipped and Pearl will stop at nothing to get revenge on those who altered her life.

UNZIPPED by Noire was an action-packed reading adventure, that had me quickly turning the pages. UNZIPPED has all the elements of a good street-lit tale. In reading this though, I felt as if the story was written a little too ghetto; all of the characters seemed to talk the same, not really distinguishing each characters' own individuality. Also, a few things did not seem to make sense and certain key elements were unbelievable. All in all, this was a pretty good read that Noire fans are sure to enjoy.

Fraternal twins Diamond and Pearl Baines were never much alike, and any similitude ceased once they both got pregnant at only fourteen years of age. Pearl decided she wanted to make her father proud and poured herself into school work while Diamond refused to pick herself up by her boot straps. Their parents stepped up for both teens equally when it came to raising their seeds, but only Pearl positively took full advantage of it while they encouraged her to excel in her education. Diamond on the other hand decided to excel in more sordid affairs such as schemes, drug use, and stripping while they begged her to stop.

Diamond gets mixed up scheming with the wrong people and when a swindle goes wrong she gets punished severely by king pin Mookie Murdock. Big mistake on his part as her father, reformed gangster turned community activist Irish Baines, doesn't hesitate to find avenues that will legally bring Mookie's corrupt empire to it's knees. Once Mookie gets wind that the feds are on to him because of Irish Baines he orchestrates the horrendous execution of anyone related. FBI agent Pearl Baines is dragged back to the ghetto she fought so hard to escape when her entire family is slain. Her mother, father, sister, niece, and daughter are slaughtered all in one night and Pearl will not rest or attempt to pick up the pieces of her life until their unjust deaths are avenged.

Almost as soon as Pearl sets foot in Harlem to exact revenge, she runs into long time family friend Menace, who is proudly running the rehabilitation outreach program, No Limitz, in which Irish Baines founded. The two have not gotten along in a decade, but it turns out Pearl has no choice but to confide in him.Read more ›
