This is another delightful foray into the mind of the spunky, sparky Junie. She makes reading fun for kids and grownups - boys AND girls! Actually, far from contributing to bad English I have observed by reading these VERY popular books aloud at school to students in 2nd grade, her grammatical mistakes draw good natured groans and corrections called out in unison. The kids catch them and they enjoy her antics, because she's over the top and a funny goofball, but everybody can relate to her experiences. It may be true that a struggling reader should have better material to work with but could very much still enjoy & benefit from being read to with emphasis whenever she says something "too-Junie".

I absolutely LOVE this author's Junie books! They are wonderfully fun for group reading in my kindergarten classroom, and later in my first grade classroom. The kids groan when the chapter is over and they have to wait until the next day to hear the next chapter. These books generate a lot of "teachable moments" and opportunities to talk about "What would you have done if you were that character?" or "What do you think about how that character is behaving or what they are doing."

Junie B. is so funny. The author has a good sense of humor and I've never had a kid tell me they didn't enjoy a "Junie" book. I recommend this book and all the others in the series.

I have a 4 year old daughter that loves Junie B. We have read several of her books!! Due to her age, I read these to her of course, and we love reading and laughing at these together!! This isn't one of our favorite Junie B, but if your kiddo enjoys Junie B., this is another one to add to the list!!!

I pretended to be excited about the release of the next Junie B. Jones book because my ten year old daughter still loves this series. But secretly, I'm every bit as thrilled as she is when a new title comes out! I adore Junie B. Jones, and I suspect that Barbara Park writes these books for adults just as much as she does for the kids.

This time Junie B. and her classmates are invited to rich Lucille's house for an Easter egg hunt. Right away things get interesting as Lucille announces that there will be a special golden egg that will win the finder a swim date with Lucille in her family's new pool! Time is spent deciding what to wear (we learn that there are Jewish clothes in this book), and finally the day arrives. In her own undaunted style, Junie B. attends the party, rekindles her "friendship" with Lucille's Nanna, becomes the Easter bunny, and finds a way to keep bossy May from discovering the golden egg. What more could anyone want from a book?

Always funny, this book once again perfectly captures the voice of a first grader. I am at a loss as to how Barbara Park does it so well--perhaps she's just remembered better than the rest of us how it felt to be so enthusiastic and joyful about everything. This is another outstanding entry in the series. Highly recommended for kids of all ages!

This was purchased as a teacher's gift for a teacher who has a library in her own classroom. This lady loved books so much that I thought her first grade class would enjoy having this in their collection. I purchased a few, tied them together and she was so greatful, considering she bought most of the books she owns herself. It was a win-win. My daughter got to read more, and she saved money!

I did ask her which books she did NOT have but wanted. I didn't want duplicates and wanted her to have stuff off her wishlist. :)

This is an awesome book. I absolutely love this book. I love it when Junie B. calls May dumb bunny. Then when Junie B. had to put on that pink fluffy bunny costume. Then May calls Junie B. dumb bunny. I think that is really funny because first Junie B.called May dumb bunny then May called Junie B. dumb bunny.

The Junie B. books are great. This is a birthday gift for my 9 year old grand-daughter. She has loved all of the Junie B. books so far. She reads them so fast I can't keep up. When she finishes the ones I've given her she lets me know she is ready for more. I'm glad I found a series she likes. I'm glad she likes to read.

but now he always says darn it.....learned it from the junie b. books. so, be aware that your kid will learn a bit of language from these books but the love them, i guess they speak to a kindergartner or first grader.
