Giant photographs provide funny, instructive, and memorable visuals for your kids. Photoshopping is the hero of this series. Very manageable text for elementary aged kids. This is a series my family reads and re-reads.

Very large books -- these make great gifts.

Kiwi Magazine Review:
This book is so cool! In terms of the 'truth is stranger than fiction' theory, one need to look no further than animals, insects and amphibians to see how crazy things can really get. Many composite fill the book, which led my daughter to believe that comets were currently crashing into the ocean, but the book's clear and comical explanations of these true stories should clear that up.

This series of books are entertaining and full of unexpected humor and info. They are some of our grandsons' favorites, so we bought these for great nephews and they loved them.

Ben Hillman's HOW WEIRD IS IT: A FREAKY BOOK ALL ABOUT STRANGENESS covers a range of concepts about 'strange', from how different cultures view the concepts of 'strange' and 'weird' differently (as in a dish of scorpions which are a delicacy to China kids, who may not be happy about a slice of pizza) to strange fungus, bacteria, and giant weather jets. Full-page color photos provide vivid accompaniment to the 'world of strange'.

Captivating cover, great photos, and interesting well-researched subjects, although the subject matter and reading level are higher than you would expect of a book this size. I love this series!
