Another good "Who Is" book. Packed with information and facts that are easy to follow and learn from. Geared toward a younger child, but my 9th grader found the information she was looking for in a way she could follow and understand. Highly recommend this book and th is series.

One thing I've noted that has been repeated in discussions on feminism is that there have been "waves of feminism" One book, written for adults, noted that the "first wave" was in the 1960's, which ignores the entire "women's sufferage wave" that established the right of women to vote. I very much appreciated this book for giving a more historical perspective that included sufferage and the writing of the ERA. Thank you to Amazon and to the publisher for making this available on Kindle. As we move into the Centennial of Sufferage, I feel books about Women who contributed so much will be of increasing interest to more women.

My 8 year-old daughter and I loved reading this book together. It was the first of the "Who is/was..." series we read, and I then ordered 5 more for her. They are well written and age-appropriate, with lots of good history along with the details of the given person. I think reading books about individuals who have made a positive impact is important, not only for kids to feel hopeful about humanity and their own future, but as an antidote to all the disturbing news they start to tune in to as they get older. A suggestion for the publishers: how about doing a book about Julia Butterfly Hill?
