Essentially simulations are a dress rehearsal to the real event. A chance for as many mistakes as possible can be made and thus lessons can be learned. Clinical recreation in all its forms is widely used with the key aims of refining learners' proficiency and self-assurance, impacting in a positive way to ensure patient safety and reducing mistakes. Understanding its benefits, and array of uses and restrictions will thus help clinical educators improve the learning experience. The practical deliveries through Simulation facilities are invaluable for training in medicine and clinical education in general. This is latest addition to the popular Essentials series and provides the introductory frame work both in practical based, as theoretically based process. It references the latest technology. This done by illustrating best practice in the field through assessments, and evaluations in such areas as operations, the latest developments in technology, technique, all supported by evidence-base content. The format and layout lends itself to helping the reader to zero in on areas of interest. There are good pictorials as well as appropriate use of charts and tables.
