We checked this out in the library where it is a reference book. It is that useful and educational!! My son HAD to have it to make the drawer lock for his desk to keep his younger brother out. Don't tell him he might actually learn something too. Lots of basic experiments/ how-to's, and info about Edison. Great book.

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Doing a weekly class on inventors and wanted to include some hands on activities. I do not have a strong science background, and many of the experiments in this book require more knowledge and experience than I have off the top of my head. I had also hoped for a more direct connection between the experiments in the book and the experiments Edison did (not necessarily exactly the same experiments of course, but a good explanation of how the concepts were similar ). Overall, a good, basic coverage of circuits. Don't know that a novice like myself would title it "easy" experiments, however.

This is a book that parents and kids alike will enjoy. The experiments are engaging, fun, and simple. I have borrowed this book from the library many times. That is the reason I bought this book to begin with. Rather than have to search for it at the library, I just have to search my house for it.
