I found this to be a helpful tool for my college anatomy and physiology class. Definitely get this book, it will help you recall items on tests more efficiently. If you want to know the kind of questions A and P teachers ask on tests get the following books:
Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers with Explanations
Vol 1 ISBN: 0971999619
Vol 2 ISBN: 0971999627
These 3 sources should help you get good grades in your A and P class. My friends and I used them and we all did quite well.

For any teachers of Anatomy / Human Biology at High School (ages 13 to 18), this book is a MUST for students in the age range of 14 to 16.

Not only does it reinforce the facts you teach, but it also serves as a back-up to most text books. While the sections in Griffin's Biology Colouring Book cover similar work, they are not as detailed as Matt's book, nor are they too far above the high school level as the other Anatomy Colouring Books that have far too much detail.

Most explanations are at a reasonable reading level. Some may need at times a little more teacher explanation.

The only major gripe I have is that the colours are preset. Some colours are very difficult to get!

Get your students a copy of this book - those of your students who want to involved in the medical profession will thank you for it!

I teach Anatomy and Physiology at a community college, so this book was a little too basic and not detailed enough for the class that I teach. Great book for the high school aged or for general information.

fine for children, paraprofessionals (CNAs, FNPs, RN students), middle school students or quick review for medical professionals long after those Anatomy lectures are a distant memory. I used the original Anatomy Coloring Book during my 15 hours of gross anatomy in med school and I still have it 18 years later; for the investment in time and review it was worth the price. I bought the smaller version recently for my son who's in 7th grade and struggling with the way Human Anatomy is presented in his science class, so I gave him the book, went through parts of it with him, and he finds it a little more involved than the material presented (it's dumbed down, it's a PUBLIC school) which is the point. They don't have a textbook for home study/review; it's always better to have access to MORE information than less. Also got a copy for daughter, age 9, for later. A useful tool for reinforcing learning.

All four of my children, ages 12-18 are using the _Human Anatomy Coloring Book_ this year as we study the human body. They are all enjoying this "lesson" and learning so much as they go along. My only regret is that I didn't buy one for myself.

I give extra credit to my BIO 209 & 210 students for completing this book, and they all say they're surprised how much value they got from doing the coloring. Simple drawings that make it easier to understand the shape and location of various organs, and how they tie in with others. Text is straightforward and concise. It's gotten to the point now, after about 4 semesters of my using this coloring book, that students are asking for coloring books for my other classes, and A&P students want extras so their own kids can "do homework" with Mom or Dad.

Every now and then I like to find new ways to review old material I already know. (Ok, I *have* to, or I'll start forgetting details.)

This would be a great companion to a basic anatomy textbook, probably at the high school level. It would also be good for younger kids who are ready to start studying anatomy on their own or with help. The drawings are pretty clear and the text is easy to understand. Because the human body is not flat, several structures that might be difficult to understand with only one view are visible from several angles, sometimes including cross sections or range of motion.

For me, I find that putting colored pencil to paper and filling in the drawings makes details clearer and easier to remember. Glancing at an image in a textbook is one thing, but actually filling in a drawing forces me to consider the shape I'm working with, to pay attention to where one bone ends and another begins, and to think about how things like joints actually work.

I think that if I had worked with books like this the first time I took classes on this subject, I might have understood the mechanics of how the body works a little better before getting into the field and seeing damaged bodies, not working.

This isn't a primary anatomy textbook. But it is a great basic workbook, and for me the act of coloring forces me to slow down and learn well. And it's an enjoyable refresher if you haven't picked up a textbook in a few years.

I have a confession to make. I am 61 years old but I still read children's books. Don't judge.

I have found over the years that if I want to learn something but am a beginner, the best place to start is a high quality children's book. All the information is correct, but simplified so that it is easily accessible. My friends think I am "well informed" and "well read", but they don't know that heavy tomes full of dry data are pretty much over my head. Children's books contain interesting stuff that is useful and presented in an engaging way and when I use books that are intended for kids, I usually come away with more useful knowledge that if I tried to tackle hoity-toity, intellectual reading material that isn't really all that interesting.

That is why I purchased the HUMAN ANATOMY COLORING BOOK. Let's face it. Regular, adult level anatomy books have enough crammed in that they make my head spin and I find I don't know how to process it all. After all, I am not studying to be a doctor, but my doctor recommends that his patients get this simple coloring book to help them better able to take charge of their own health! I only need a basic but accurate knowledge of how my body works, and where all my "parts" are! When I have this simple understanding of my body, I can talk to my doctor in a clear way, and I can also better understand what he or she is telling me. I am better able to practice simple, at-home massage techniques, I am able to use an OTC laser, and in general have an overall enhanced respect for the way I am created. It is great to know enough to have good understanding for elementary nutritional, medical and physical fitness, and this can be had by getting the basics in a fun and easy manner.
