Ten Grouchy Groundhogs was delightful! I selected it for a group of preschoolers but my 3rd grader enjoyed it as well. Delightful rhythm, predictability and fun new words not always available for young readers. Pictures are fun too. This makes a perfect addition to our library, short on books for Groundhogs Day.

This book was bought to be used in a pre-k setting and it was a perfect buy. The students absolutely loved it. Not only was it funny but it dealt with numbers...and the infamous groundhog. I highly recommend this book to teachers or parents of young children. I also read the book to my 2 year old and she laughed and counted the groundhogs on each page. You can't beat that!

Ten Grouchy Groundhogs reinforces counting for young readers. A controlled vocabulary bank, rhyme, and repetition are all evident in this book. Those wanting to teach the Groundhog Day story will find this Scholastic book useful. The graphics are fun and entertaining, and the faces on the groundhogs are expressive. I just wish the groundhogs looked more groundhoggish and less chipmunkish; I'm almost surprised one of them is not named Alvin.

Cute illustrations and it teaches children how to count to ten or rather down to one. Very descriptive for kiddos to see a lot of different actions, such as dancing, digging, etc.. We did an activity of making shadows after reading this book, with a flashlight and a printable of a groundhog. My girls loved it!!
