I bought this book because there was a special on it. I knew that it would be out of the age range for my granddaughter, but I figured I would save it for her. When I got the book, I took a look at it and read it quickly myself. I decided that I was not going to hold onto it until she was at the age range that it had stated (she is almost 3). I read the book with her and she LOVES Noodles, who is the mischievous young puppy in the story. The book is very well written. The illustrations in this book are just amazing and she giggles before I even turn the page. She can tell you the general story when she picked up the book. For a child that is almost 3, i think that the artwork, vibrant colors and character (Noodles) are all a part of what makes this such a great read. I would suggest adding it to an even lower age group as I believe it is a book that any child can learn and grow with. I may need to purchase another one just so that she will always have it. It is her "go to book for storytime with nanny" and I am very happy that I made the purchase. I will be ordering more books from this fantastic author very soon. This book will take her to the next level of reading as I feel she will be reading the story on her own before the age level for the book, and that is because of the wonderful layout and beautiful vibrant colors. She loves her rainy days book with Noodles.

This is the first of the Noodles books we have encountered. I am sure my daughter will have them all before long. These are part of the Scholastic Leveled reader series. These are fun, playful stories about a young puppy named Noodles who seems to find his way into mischief. In this adventure Noodles wanders his way into school. He is frightened by the bell, he hides behind some boots and then he plays with the children. The illustrations are wonderful watercolor prints with great details that inspire a real feel for the story. Hans Wilhelm has written a wonderful story, that children will enjoy reading many times.

The Leveled readers are great books for young children. They are designed to progress as a child's reading improves. There are hundreds of titles in these formats, even across different publishers. What makes this particular series, The Lego City Adventures, so good, is that little kids will be attracted to them because of the format and style. These books are bright, vibrant, and colorful stories with fun illustrations. As a Level 1 reader geared for Kindergarten to Grade 1, this book is intended to help with sight word recognition, and sounding out simple words and sentences.

This was an absolutely perfect book for early readers! There aren't many Thanksgiving stories that are designed especially for readers just beginning to read on their own, and the Noodles books are wonderful! Noodles is a dog with lots of spunk, and his adventures are always lots of fun! In this book he is dressed as a turkey and doesn't like it. I ordered this book sight unseen for my grandson who is a first grader this year. I was very pleased with this book!

Being an educator in my own right, I still took a long time in choosing books for my granddaughter's library. I reviewed dozens if not hundreds! The Noodles series provides short, entertaining stories with an easily understood 'moral' set against colorful and engaging backgrounds. Of all the books my granddaughter has, these books are her absolute favorites. We know this because she can 'read' them back to us almost word for word!

I love reading about the antics of Noodles the dog. This Maltese has a personality that will win your heart. He reminds me of my Maltese. I am a retired teacher and when I read these books to my class of 4 year old students, they always asked for more. Now I read them to my 4 year old granddaughter and she loves them too! We have almost all of them and we read them often. We especially love the ones about the holidays!

The Noodles books have been good books to use with my grandchildren and also with kids at school in kindergarten and first grade. The books are leveled and text is supported well by pictures. Kids also always love books with holiday themes. I recommend the Noodles books wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to encourage early reading.

Here in Eastern North Carolina we get snow some years and some we do not, so the children find it exciting. I save my children's book about snow for January, when we are most likely to have snow. I Love Snow features Noodles the dog as he plays in the snow and does all the things children like to do when it snows, like make a snow angel and slide down a hill. It is a good easy reader for beginning readers and a good story for young children to start discussions about playing in the snow. The pictures are attractive for young children and they enjoy this simple story.
