Carla Killough McClafferty is known for her well-researched nonfiction for the middle grade crowd, such as THE MANY FACES OF GEORGE WASHINGTON: Remaking a Presidential Icon. Her reputation is well-earned here, as she lays out the lives of five men who have created empires online. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Jeff Bezos--the men behind Windows, Apple, Facebook, Google, and Amazon--come alive in these short bios. I am writing this review on Amazon because of Bezos, who created a place for us to share books! To truly understand our age, one must know the lives and times of these men. Highly recommended for any middle-school reader.
