I was disappointed in this book because it's grammatically awkward, unlike the other books in the series, and the only scratch and sniff that has a smell is the lemon, which smells like pledge.

It's almost like it was written by a different author. Who talks like this? "Does a dinosaur grab for a cookie that's hot? No, that's something that he does decidedly NOT." You can see more under "Search inside this book" on the product page.

I have a book club for my niece and nephew, and every month or so I buy them a book and read it on video. Since I have fond memories of Richard Scarry scratch and sniff books, I decided to find one for them, too. The Richard Scarry ones are out of print now, so I settled on this. It's merely "okay".

I'll start with the positives. The book is nice and sturdy, with a good hardback cover and board book-style pages. The illustrations are also super cute. Unfortunately, the book is extremely short and only 4 of the inner pages have scratch and sniff spots. The cover also has one, but I suspect it will wear out fast since it's on the outside. I didn't actually scratch any of the stickers because I didn't want the scent to wear off. I could smell a faint scent on each one, though, and they did seem close enough to the real thing. A super-sniffing wine expert might take issue with the quality of the scents, but they're definitely good enough to convince a 3 or 4 year old.

The phrasing is a little odd in places, but I do like that the book uses a few "big" words like "delicate" and "sensible". A lot of little kid books are overly simplistic, but I like to see one or two harder words thrown in. It gives you a great chance to teach a new word and give it some context.

Given the low price, I would buy this again - but I do wish I could have found a slightly longer book with more opportunities for scratching and sniffing.

I love this book series! What better way to playfully teach toddlers about manners than with dinosaurs! Even better with scratch and sniff. 2 cookie recipes in the back- tried making the cinnamon cookies and they were pretty good! Added some dried cranberries Mm! It would be cute if they came with Dino shaped cookie cutters, like the pictures-- that would warrant 6 stars!

My son loves reading the book, although only 1 or 2 of the scratch & sniffs actually smell (Lemon & strawberry) the other few don't smell. So that was a bit dissappointing, as a bunch of the pages didn't smell. Just 2 of them did. I'm anxious to try the recipes at the end of the book, as my son is. But he loved the story as he loves all the "how does a dinosaur" series books.

My 2 year old is in love with our old scratch and sniff books from when I was a kid and it carries over to this new book too. I wish that there were more recipes in it. There are two and that is a start. This was a great Christmas Eve present this year for our annual cookie baking with grandma.

My 3 year old loves reading this book and frequently carries it around with her. It has some "Scratch n' sniff" pictures and some cookie recipes that she wants to try. Good book if you enjoy this series but it is not the typical 'How do dinosaurs..." book!

My grandson is a 3 1/2 yr old special needs child. He LOVES his Dinosaurs books. He has his mom and dad read at least one of the books to him every night. I have purchased 6 or 8 books to begin his collection. The lessons given through the dinosaurs point of view are so easily understood. There are many children who learn differently. By reading these books over and over with my grandson Gabriel, he has become more aware of others and their feelings at a time when he was unable to comprehend "others feelings" due to his sensory issues. Thank You for writing these Dinosaur Books. I will continue to purchase the books for my grandson as I know there are others geared for children a little older than he is now. My son LOVES this book and laughs at all the silly rhymes. While only a few of the scratch and sniff parts actually smell strongly I think that happens with any book that has scratch and sniff. There are also cute recipes in the back. Just another How Do Dinosaurs book to add to the collection.
