4.0 out of 5 stars Good information and easy to read, May 29, 2006

I appreciate any book about homeschooling that addresses teaching more than one child. I found a lot of the information to be helpful yet very basic. We're only in our first year of homeschooling, but I felt like I knew much of this already. If you've spent a considerable amount of time reading about homeschooling then you probably wouldn't need this book. It does, however, have some excellent ideas about discipline problems that could make it worth your time. I also really appreciate her attitude that you can have a clean and organized home while homeschooling. Overall, it was a well-written book - easy to read with some good information.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best little books on homeschooling out there., August 24, 2006

I have been homeschooling my children for over 12 years now and have collected a rather large library of homeschooling books and resources. I was interested in this book because, with 8 children, I am always looking for fresh ideas on teaching several children at once, managing the household along with homeschooling, etc. This is the best, most concise and straightforward book on homeschooling I have seen. It is filled with practical ideas, simple solutions, lots of resources and lots of encouragement to the new and veteran homeschooler. If you are just beginning to homeschool or perhaps need some new ideas or approaches, get this book. I especially would recommend it to anyone who is considering homeschooling, because it so brilliantly and simply lays out in an organized manner everything you need to know to get started.

5.0 out of 5 stars An easy-to-use and quite innovative instructional guide for proper assessment, April 10, 2006
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
Home Schooling More Than One Child: A Practical Guide For Families by Carren W. Joye (founder of a statewide homeschool regional support group) is an easy-to-use and quite innovative instructional guide for proper assessment, coordination, and organizing of homeschooling parents with multiple students. Introducing the reader to more efficient, effective, and practical methods of collectively motivating, scheduling, educating and balancing a number of homeschooled students, Home Schooling More Than One Child also teaches of how one might approach various ages, doing housework, afford internet, retain a social focus for the children and much more. Home Schooling More Than One Child is very highly recommended to all parents looking for a more supplemental and effective approach to homeschooling their more one student at a time.
