Better Beginnings is an excellent book. It is packed with numerous ideas and is a quick read. The format allows the reader to work with one major concept and develop it into powerful, impactful beginnings. This book is now a valued resource on my bookself and at my side for every presentation that I prepare!

For those of you that have lost your audience, large or small, to the curse of our interrupt driven society, you will appreciate this book. Grabbing and maintaining the attention of customers and prospects in today's sales environment is more challenging than ever. Presenting relevant information to the optimal target used to be sufficient. But today we compete for face time with customers that are constantly challenged to do more with less [time]. I'm now continually competing with the Blackberry and a hundred other priorities while I'm trying to make a point.

Better Beginnings provides a fresh look at addressing that very issue by not just presenting but engaging an audience, drawing them into my thoughts and message. It sounds fundamental but it's not always easy and rarely given enough attention. I catch myself presenting material with a message that seems obvious to me but loosing my audience to drifting attention and other tasks invading their thoughts. By implementing some basic principals outlined within this book, I've been able to better capture and hold the attention of my audience thus staving the urge to look at the Blackberry! I highly recommend reading and using the material presented in this book to improve the impact of your sales presentations.

I attended a webinar on this book and had to get it. I'm in the process of reading it now. I love what I've read so far. It's easy to read and I love the layout - with the important addition of the pictures. Thought-provoking pictures. Right-on concepts. I recently took a class purporting to be about "captivating your audience" and it was so unlike this book. I was sorely disappointed. My world is now irrevocably colored, thanks to these concepts. I'll finish the book soon. Thanks for the opportunity to make my online training presentations more enticing!
