I think a lot of Christian women are deceived when it comes to pornography and the role it plays in their life, relationships, and Christian walk. This book helps to shine light on the truth which is truly the first step in getting set free from the addiction and sin of pornography. I love that the authors share their personal journey through this major struggle in their own life. It is a book filled with the truth about pornography and how it can truly damage your life and the relationships with those around you. I highly recommend this book to ALL Christian women, whether you are addicted to pornography or not, because it is something we all need to guard our hearts towards because it is so easy to get caught in the trap of pornaography addiction. I give this book 5 stars!

This book is a must read! What a breath of fresh air to see this author's transparency concerning this very real and problematic subject. Not only does the author share from her personal experience, but she offers realistic steps to breaking free from sexual addiction and pornography. The practical steps offered could be applied to any area of bondage or addiction. As the founder and president of a support ministry for women, I recognize that true healing begins when one person is willing to remove their mask and be transparent. When we remove our mask, we give others permission to do the same. The author exposes the secrecy connected with sexual addiction and helps to break down the barriers that often prevent individuals from getting help. I would highly recommend this book!

To empower women to overcome such an insidious and secret evil, it takes the courage of women like S'Ambrosia and Shelley to be brave enough to tell their stories and give hope to those still in bondage. It's high time we "get real" in the Church and get serious about helping each other instead of condemning and shaming as so many are afraid we will do.

It's been many years since the Lord delivered me, and He still has to remind me that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus and that He did not deliver me to bring me shame. When I was still in the midst of my addiction, I had no idea that's what it was. The day I realized there was such a thing as sexual addiction and what that meant was the day I began my journey to healing. At that time however, there was no resource like this book, and I first looked to the self-help shelf at my local bookstore. All I found were secular books that left me relatively unchanged as I tried their tricks but didn't attack the root of the problem. What I needed was S'Ambrosia & Shelley's book. I finally found a counselor who walked me through similar steps outlined in this book, and I was delivered from my addiction.

We're surrounded with sexual images and eroticism. We're conditioned to love and envy the beautiful models while we learn to loathe our own natural and beautiful bodies. It's no wonder women of any age are lured into sexual addiction, adultery and even homosexual behavior. But the answer is in surrendering to God, and forgiveness. Shelley Hitz lays out a comprehensive roadmap to victory over this silent nightmare.

The testimonies in this book are real talk from real warriors who have overcome - you are not alone. We can all be victorious with Jesus, don't be afraid to trust Him with the darkest parts of your heart.

This guide looks at pornography from sociological, neurological, and personal perspectives. The authors wrote this book to provide assurance to women, especially Christian women, who struggle with the power of pornography in their lives. Hitz and Curtis believe that freedom from pornography is possible. A Christian Woman's Guide to Breaking Free from Pornography is based on a premise that, while images do not disappear, they can be controlled by redirection of thought, Christian counseling, accountability, and relationship with God.

Dr. Judith Reisman indicates pornography "could be more addictive than crack cocaine because cocaine can be excreted from the body, whereas pornographic images ... remain, structurally and neurochemically with a person forever." With this information, the authors show that pornography is deeply rooted in America, and holds certainly emotional if not physical consequences for those who become addicted.

Hitz and Curtis wrote this book "to open the door to confession and conversation among women in the Body of Christ who feel as though they are alone in this struggle." They share their own journeys, "true stories of struggle and freedom," and practical steps women can take "to break free" from their cycle of addiction to images or the written word. Throughout the eBook version, are links to other information and support available from or through the authors and other sources.

Two brave women have written a courageous book about a topic not often discussed from the pulpit, in small groups, or between accountability partners, which are the primary means of dissemination of support for Christians struggling with personal addictions.
