I just purchased this book last week and I absolutely love it! My friends and family have already commented that the quality and style of my floral arrangements has improved...and I haven't even finished reading the book yet! The first section of the book gives a very informative overview of the basic components of floral arranging. This section is a great learning tool for beginners and a wonderful refresher for intermediate floral designers. Since I am fairly new to floral arranging, the step by step instructions and illustrations contained in the book have been a tremendous help. There are also a lot of beautiful full-color pictures in this book that really stir your creativity. I highly recommend this book for anyone with an interest in or appreciation for flower arranging!!!

I bought this book after completing a floral design course. I wanted ideas for creating bouquets and centerpieces for friends and family. This book has many ideas and is arranged primarily by season. The photos are exquisite and there are complete and easy to follow 'recipes' for for recreating them. The only reason I do not give this book 5 stars is because of outdated information about material to support floral arrangements in water. For example, there is much mention of chicken wire (no longer widely used) and water storing gel beads) are not mentioned at all.

I am taking Flower Design classes and, inspired by the course/teacher, was looking for additional books on flowers arrangements that would give me ideas on HOW to arrange seasonal flowers ( from my backyard:) ) and ideas for holiday/occasional arrangements. I purchased about 7 books by various flower designers and this one is the BEST!!! Book composition, photo illustrations, flower arrangements - everything is done on a PROFESSIONAL level by people who LOVE and KNOW their field!
The book illustrates principles (colors, containers, equipment, flower shapes, arrangement shapes, flower preparations and maintenance), different types of flower arrangements (front faced, hand tied, foam arrangements, wiring and wrapping). Section 2 covers seasonal flowers and foliage arrangements - great variety of arrangements from tulips in a cup to formal arrangements! Other sections cover all year-round flowers/arrangements and occasional (wedding). I truly felt an energizing power and inspiration from this book. I would recommend this book to everybody - from beginners, for those who have some basic arranging skills, to the flower shop Pros - as an additional source for new great flower arrangements!

This book was very interesting to read. I am anxious to try some new techniques and some of the tips offered by the authors have already helped me improve my own arrangements.

I have done many floral arrangements in oasis, but the tied bouquets are a new adventure and I like the way that the process is explained and illustrated for each project. I'm ready to give these a shot.
