This is a spoiler-free review but assumes familiarity with the Georgina Kincaid series.

And here we are... The End. Succubus Revealed is the last book in Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid series and I cannot begin to tell you how bittersweet reading this book felt. I wanted to hurry up and read it, yet slow down and savor the story. Ultimately I settled on "screw it, full speed ahead!" and read it in one seating.

We find Georgina working as a Santa's elf at a high-end Mall, far away from her former ideal job at her beloved bookstore, which she had to leave after what happened with Seth and Maddie. Ugh Maddie. Blech, do. not. like! But that's another rant for another time. Georgie's been ordered by Hell to transfer her succubus services to Las Vegas, but when she goes out there to scope out the scene, things seem a little too intentionally perfect. With Seth Mortenson's sister-in-law still ill with cancer in Seattle, this transfer is yet one more hurdle in their attempt to be with each other. Sweet cheesus will Georgie and Seth ever be able to be together?! You'll have your answer by the end of Succubus Revealed and I get sentimentally teary-eyed all over again just remembering it.

I did find some parts somewhat predictable, which made the beginning a little slow for me. The first half of the book was slow-moving, but by the middle, things start Happening with a capital H. Some readers probably have figured out several revelations that are hinted at in the last book, Succubus Shadows, but it is the raw emotions Ms. Mead is able to evoke that make this book so fantastic. I think Seth and Roman fans alike will be pleased with the outcome and with how things play out.

The final installment of the Georgina Kincaid series is an enjoyable and satisfying read. The ending was predictable, but I think it would be disappointing if it ended any other way. I was pleased that the main questions were resolved and felt a sense of closure with the end of Georgina's story.

This time the story takes place at Christmas and our favorite succubus Georgina is working part-time as one of Santa's elves at the mall. She and Seth are trying to make it work as a couple when she abruptly receives transfer instructions to move from Seattle to Las Vegas. It's a dream job but the timing couldn't be worse for Seth, as he can't leave his brother's family due to his sister in law's cancer. Her friends think the timing of the transfer and the specifics are suspicious and help her get to the bottom of it.

All of Georgina's friends are back and there is a fondue party, secret Santa drawing, and Jerome even enlists the gang to win a bowling tournament against his rival. The Christmas setting makes a nice backdrop to the story, and you'll never guess who plays Santa! I've enjoyed this group of friends throughout the books and their humor that counteracts the sadness in Georgina's life. And where else can you find a demon like Jerome who chooses to appear as a John Cusack look alike? Her friends really come through for her when she needs them.

This book ties up the loose ends very well and balances the storylines of Georgina's contract, relationship, and Seth's family illness. Even if you are not a fan of Georgina's romantic choice, there is some gratifying character insight and redemption to be found in her circle of friends. Roman and Carter are standouts in particular.

OK so the series is over. Was it any big surprise? No.

I have loved this series up until this end but for what it was & considering that it's a Mead book (so if you're familiar w/her other work you'll know she is very formulaic & also blatantly rips ideas & actual verbiage from cult pop culture), it was a decent ending with no real shockers. However, I enjoyed it as a whole & think it'll be better on 2nd read as a guilty pleasure b'c it's certainly no Gone With the Wind.

**SPOILERS**

Ironically, I've come to actually dislike Mead's writing after reading Dark Swan & Vampire Academy mainly b'c both series have main characters whose basic, logical deduction skills are inexplicably at a complete loss especially given their experience & abilities & the secondary characters you come to love, are generally reduced to nothing but two-dimensional props.

I was happy that at least In this series, Georgina is marginally better at owning her past & current choices of bad behaviour. In the last book (the 5th book) something happened to Georgina where she had to relive the most pivotal experiences in her long life. Obvious to the reader but not so much Georgina, it was to get her to realize something crucial about her life in regard to the choices she kept making.

What I appreciated was that it finally allowed me as a reader to get closer to Georgina. To feel empathy & compassion for her (finally) & put her life story into perspective by tracking where she came from to where she was now. To me, that was a very smart move & I'd hoped that there would be more resolutions to come in regard to how she handled her present day life in this book.
