I saw this in our local bookstore and had to have it. My instincts were right, because my 19 month-old can't get enough of the beautiful illustrations and the story is just simple enough so that my four year-old can read it to her sister before bedtime. The colors used are vibrant and interesting, and the pop-up butterfly at the end is a great surprise for the young ones. Great for pre-schoolers.

The innovative design of this book and the spare text make this a fun pick for toddler groups. The photos with their die cut holes are engaging and colorful, and of course that huge pop out butterfly at the end is sure to capture any wandering eye that you might have lost along the way.

I love that that although this is a concept book about colors, it still has some basic story elements that are great for introducing very young listeners to books that not only teach, but have a beginning, middle and an end. It's rare that you find that for the very young. This is a great choice for storytime or for your toddlers library and serves as a good way to introduce a few basic colors. Recommended.

My 2 yr old granddaughter loves this book! I got it for her along with a packet of little butterflies because she loves them so much! The book is very colorful and is a simple 'where did the butterfly go?' story. It has a great finale--a little book lover's favorite book!!

My toddler loved this book from the first time we read it. The illustrations are amazing, particularly the butterfly that "flies up" from the pages at the end, and the story is interesting and easy to follow. Plus, the learning component of teaching colors and types of insects is great. These kinds of amazing books are hard to find - thank you!

The book is fairly sturdy and quite colorful. It seems to be a terrific introduction to insects with minimal information. The three to five year old suggested readership seems right. With all the foolish fears and misinformation this seems ideal for creating a more appropriate eaction of wonder and appreciation.
