I love this book. It is so interesting and easy to read. It is a great book for those majoring in Human Services, Psychology or Urban Studies. It is also in excellent condition. I'm glad I asked my professor about purchasing this older version. The newest edition cost over $100.

As the author of Out of the Darkness: The Story of Mary Ellen Wilson, I am compelled to correct an error within this book; it is stated that Mary Ellen was adopted from a state facility when she was four years old. That is incorrect. Mary Ellen was adopted by Thomas and Mary McCormack when she was eighteen months old - a year and a half. Also, there is another important book not referenced by Delinquency In Society. It is called "Case #1: The Mary Ellen Wilson Files." It has all the information you could ever want on the Mary Ellen Wilson case. Case #1: The Mary Ellen Wilson Files
